Walking

Well it is a walking holiday! so a reasonable level of fitness is required, expect to walk 8 – 15 km a day, some fairly steep sections but it´s walking not climbing, so nothing that requires any specialist skills or equipment.

It is of course a holiday and not a military operation so you don’t HAVE to do all the walking. Having said that I do believe the best way to really appreciate the countryside and landscape is by foot.

What to bring?

You don’t need heavy walking boots but I would suggest light boots that have some ankle support would be best. A hiking stick or pole is also quite useful, saves on the old knees on the way down! A small day pack for carrying water, snacks etc I’d also recommend hiking trousers that convert into shorts and a sun hat.
